Information and advice

The first stage of the process is an initial information and advice session.  We will meet with you to identify employment needs and agree an action plan.  We will give you information on other services if Right Employment is not appropriate for your needs and help you access those services.  If Right Employment is the right service you will be allocated an Employment Consultant who will take you through the rest of the process.

Profiling & Work tasters

The Employment Consultant works with you to compile a vocational profile that identifies your experience, skills, interests and work preferences and helps determine the most appropriate type of job for you.  It also looks at other factors that affect work such as transport, benefits, health and risk factors.  As part of this profiling process we arrange several work tasters with different employers.  These are short work experiences of 1or 2 days to help you make an informed choice about the type of work you would like to do.

Seeking work

Once we have identified the type of work that would suit you, we contact local employers to identify suitable job opportunities.  We also help with completing application forms and CVs and give support at interviews.  We can also arrange work trials of several weeks so that the employer and the individual can see if it is right for them.  If there are any problems we will work with you and the employer to address these.

Starting Work

Once work has been found, our staff work alongside you within the workplace to help you learn the tasks required for your job and help you become included in the workforce.  We will support you for as long as necessary for you to learn the job.  We then gradually reduce the support as you become more independent and are able to work without our support.

Long term commitment

We will continue to offer support to you and your employer after our in-work support has finished.  Our monitoring officer will contact you and the employer regularly to ensure everything is going smoothly.
